Filipika is an accessible online learning platform built specifically for persons with visual impairments. We offer courses that teach practical digital skills — from screen reader basics to Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, AI tools, and more — so learners can compete confidently in the modern workforce.

Our courses are built from the ground up for people who use screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver). You don't need any prior tech experience, but the platform is equally useful for learners who already have some skills and want to go deeper into professional tools.

Filipika is based in Ghana and prices are listed in Ghana Cedis (GHS), though learners from anywhere in the world are welcome.

We currently offer 15 courses covering everything from Screenreader Basics (Module 1) all the way to Artificial Intelligence (Module 15). You can browse the full catalogue at filipika.org/courses.

Our curriculum spans: screen reader basics (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver), the Windows environment, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, cloud storage (Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive), web browsing, Google Workspace, Zoom and Microsoft Teams, audio/video editing, proofreading tools, and AI productivity tools.

The modules are numbered and build on each other, so starting from Module 1 is recommended for beginners. If you already have foundational skills, you can jump into the specific module that suits your level.

Yes. At least one course — Tools for Proofreading and Review (Module 9) — is available free of charge. You can filter for free courses on the course catalogue page.

Lessons cover the three leading screen readers: JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver, so you can follow along with whichever tool you already use.

Most courses are priced at GHS 100.00, with some (like Audio and Video Editing) at GHS 150.00. Prices are shown on each course listing.

Financial Aid is available on most Filipika courses to help learners who cannot afford the course fee. Here's how to apply:
1. Create a free account at filipika.org/accounts/signup if you don't already have one.
2. Sign in to your account.

4. On the course page, click the "Apply for Financial Aid" button (you'll find it alongside the enrol button at the bottom of the course overview).
5. Complete and submit the financial aid application form.
Courses that offer financial aid are clearly labelled with a "Financial Aid Available" badge on the course listing.
